How to Buy the Best Bath Towel

Luxury Hotel Bathroom with Towels

Here’s a point we’ve made before, and will most likely make again.

That’s because it’s an important one: Guests want three things from their stay with you — a clean room, clean bedding, and clean towels.

But that’s the bare minimum. Of course, your towels should be clean, but they should leave your guests feeling warm, dry and comforted. Here’s some advice on how to buy the best bath towel.

Monogramming Your Robes, Towels, Bed, Bath and Table Linens

category333Monogramming for Innkeepers

Many of our bed-and-breakfast, country inn and upscale hotel customers provide monogrammed robes in every guest room. Innkeepers find their guests love these robes and quite often want to purchase them. Simply putting a small tag on the robe hanger can explain to the guest that if they wish to purchase the robes, new robes are available for sale at the front desk.

Some innkeepers have little shops or a few shelves behind the front desk where they show inventory of many of the monogrammed items used in the rooms. Monogramming your robes not only reminds guests where they stayed but also brings back the many fond memories they made while staying at your property.

Crests, logos and initials can be monogrammed on all bath and bedding items. All monogrammed orders must be approved before work can be completed.

We use a two-step approval process:

Bath Towels, Bath Sheets & Pool Towels

Wholesale Linens Bath Towels

We have many customers asking us about the best size to purchase in a bath towel. Many years ago the most popular size of a bath towel was 27”x 50”. As the years went by, manufacturers were offering larger sizes starting with 27”x 54” up to 30”x 56” for a bath towel and in some cases 30”x 60” or 34”x 64”(in the past, considered a bath sheet size). Customers are requesting large bath towels which will wrap around their body. Larger bath towels are, in most cases, more luxurious in size, weight, cotton content and softness. Most bath towels can fit on a normal size towel bar.

Beware of Chlorine Bleach & Fabric Softener

InnStyle Facial WipeDo not use Chlorine Bleach on your sheeting or towels as it will cause fading and discoloration. It breaks down and permanently weakens the cotton fibers. It is important to ensure that your linens do not come in contact with face creams or toothpaste as these may leave stains on your towels or sheets. All stains need to be treated properly before they are put into the washer and dryer. If a stain is not caught before it hits the washer and dryer, the stain will set. Try to use makeup remover towels to remove makeup such as our InnStyle makeup remover towels or Facial Wipes (you will save many towels, washcloths and pillowcases if using these). When washing your linens, use an oxygen-based product or a product without a brightener and fragrance to wash the linens.  Brighteners in washing detergents can leave white spots. Oxygen based products are safe for use on almost all washable fabrics including color fabrics.  When using an oxygen-based product, the chemical ingredient oxidizes to help remove soil and organic matter brightening the fabric and removing stains without taking out the color of the fabric.

Fabric softener is also Not Recommended!! Fabric softener is designed to coat fibers in oils, waxes and fragrances that might make the fabric feel soft but the build-up of chemicals can damage the fabric and make it less absorbent. In addition, fabric softeners clog the pores of cottons including Egyptian cotton . This applies to any sheeting or toweling. It prevents the cotton from breathing and it decreases the luster and gloss of the appearance. High quality Cottons including Egyptian cotton linens do not need to be treated with fabric softener. The Cotton will become softer naturally, without fabric softener, after repeated washings and dryings.

The InnStyle staff would be happy to go over proper care of our fine linens with you. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

The What and Where of Fingertip Towels

Filo Fingertip TowelsA fingertip towel is a small towel designed to be easy and convenient for drying hands and particularly ‘fingertips’ quickly. It is smaller than a hand towel, yet larger than a wash cloth. A fingertip towel can be functional, decorative, or both. It is a versatile towel that can be laid on the countertop next to the sink, hung on a small towel rack, or draped over coordinating bath towels or hand towels, particularly in guest bathrooms.  Continue reading

Treat Your Guests like Royalty With Luxury Towels

Your guests notice the little things that make them feel comforted and “regal” at your bed and breakfast. These little things add up to the biggest thing of all – your reputation!

There’s nothing more capable of impressing your guests than luxurious than high-quality terry cloth towels through InnStyle.

Terry Cloth Towels from InnStyle

MicroCotton® Hotel Collection Towels

How lavish it feels to wrap ones self in a soft, absorbent fluffy bath towel right after a long, hot soak or shower. But not all towels are created equal. Here’s how to find the right one for you.

Terry cloth is a fabric with uncut loops, or pile, deliberately standing away from its ground base. Terry cloth is woven using two warp beams: the ground warp, which forms the base of the towel, and the pile warp, which creates the loops of thread that give the fabric its texture and function. These loops effectively increase the surface area of the fabric, enhancing its absorbency, while maintaining a soft feel.

Terry cloth is traditionally made from cotton, but it can also be made from different materials such as silk, linen or other natural and artificial fibers. Most manufacturers choose cotton because, unlike other materials that get weaker in water, cotton’s absorbent fiber gets stronger when wet. In fact, cotton can absorb 20 to 30 times its own weight in water. The loop pile acts as a sponge while withstanding squeezing, pulling, rubbing, twisting and turning.

Because of its absorbency attributes, terry cloth is commonly used for towels, bathrobes, beach cover-ups, athletic warm-ups and headbands. Terry cloth can easily be dyed or printed, as well as decoratively embroidered.

Terry cloth towels from InnStyle combine style, comfort and quality and are sure to make a lasting impression on your guests, making your B & B a crowned head in your industry.

Waffle Weave Blankets, Towels and Robes Feel As Yummy As They Sound

Waffle weave fabric is a woven fabric with a recessed square pattern resembling the look of the popular breakfast treat or honey bee comb. During the weaving process, the ridges outlining the squares or diamonds are raised on all sides by floating both the warp and the weft, and gradually decreasing the floats moving from the ridges toward the centers.  The result is a versatile fabric, ranging in gauge from fine to coarse, that is very absorbent. Waffle Weave Robe InnStyle

The adaptable nature of waffle weave fabric makes it a popular choice for many bath and kitchen accessories, including:

  1. Bath Towels: The waffle weave fabric is highly absorbent. It also allows air to flow through it so that it dries quickly, thus making it a perfect choice for towels. Waffle fabrics are made in a range of weights. Coarse or large gauge waffle weave material makes particularly luxurious, plush towels.
  2. Washcloths: The waffle weave design is engineered in such a way as to absorb soapy water and hold it inside of the specialty woven pockets.
  3. Dishcloths: The tiny squares are designed to remove large amounts of water away from the surface and reduce streaking.
  4. Bathrobes: The weave that makes fast-drying dishcloths and dishtowels also works well for a lightweight summer bathrobe. Medium gauge waffle weave has thermal properties and provides warmth that is a perfect choice for cozy cool weather robes.
  5. Blankets: Waffle weave has thermal properties that provide warmth and insulation by trapping body heat and forming a warm layer next to the skin, thereby increasing heat retention. In addition, waffle weave fabric is highly absorbent and available in a variety of weights. These features make this fabric perfect for blankets.

InnStyle carries a wide selection of towels, blankets and robes in comfortable, cozy and absorbent waffle weave. Browse the website and take a taste of your favorite waffle today.
